We are having tennis skills each week (Tuesday afternoons) until the end of term 3. Kooli comes to school to work with us. We had lots of fun learning how to hold our rackets and how to control our tennis balls.
We are a class of Year 0/1 students at Saint Paul's Catholic School in Richmond, Nelson, New Zealand. We hope you enjoy having a look at all the fun we have on our learning journey throughout the year!

World Cafe
Last week the Junior Team enjoyed a World Cafe as part of our Olympics topic this term. We were lucky to have such generous parents and grandparents to make and serve us delicious treats from all over the world. There were tasty treats from the Netherlands, Indonesia, Samoa, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, India and Japan. We had a lot of fun trying all of the different foods and identifying flags!

Week 5 Junior School Reminders
World Café
On Thursday morning the junior school students (Piwakawaka/Kakapo/Pukeko/Tui) will be given
the opportunity to try some delicious foods from different countries around the
world. This world café is related to our
Olympics topic this term. We are
fortunate to have tasty treats being prepared by some of our parent community
(from Indonesia, Netherlands, Brazil, Samoa to name a few). The
students should still bring their usual play lunch and lunch to eat. The food offered will be small samples. The students do not have to try any food they
do not wish to eat. Teachers are very
aware of food allergies. We have a list
of ingredients for each recipe and will be mindful of which students need monitoring. Please come and talk to your child’s teacher
if you have any questions.
Daffodil Day
On Friday we are celebrating Daffodil Day and the student
council is raising money for the Cancer Society. The
students have been asked to wear something yellow (T shirt, hair ribbons,
socks or whatever you can find). The students need to bring a gold coin
for our coin trail. We will have a
special liturgy on Friday morning.
